VA-10's Student STEM Workshop



Thank you to everyone who participated in our 2020 VA-10 Student STEM Workshop!

 
In honor of STEM Education Day, I invite all Virginia-10 high school students to join me for a virtual and interactive Student STEM Workshop.

This workshop will allow students to hear directly from experts and learn more about the different skills and tricks that come in handy in various STEM fields. 

This virtual workshop will take place Saturday November 7, 2020 beginning at 10 a.m. It is open to all high school students in Virginia's 10th Congressional District.

10:00AM -- Welcome and Introduction Remarks from Congresswoman Wexton

10:30AM -- Session 1: Coding 101 with The Coder School

10:55AM -- Session 2: Getting Into Gaming with Joey Gawrysiak, Head of Department of Esports at Shenandoah University

11:20AM -- Session 3: Why You Need Cloud Computing with Northern Virginia Community College

11:45AM -- Session 4: So You Want to Work for NASA with Clayton Turner, Director of NASA Langley Research Center

12:15PM -- Panel Session: How To Get There: Resources To Steer You Into STEM with the Virginia Dept. of Education, Congressional App Challenge, and Northern Virginia Community College
