Wexton Statement on President Biden’s State of the Union Address
Washington, February 7, 2023
Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton (D-VA) issued the following statement on President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address to Congress:
“Tonight, President Biden spoke about a strong and resilient America which has bounced back from the darkest days of the pandemic and is coming together to tackle the biggest challenges of our time. I share Joe Biden’s hope for our future – that we can and will grow more united as a Congress and a country and work together to deliver for American families.
“I was proud of the ways the last Congress partnered with the Biden Administration to achieve historic progress on issues like lowering health care and prescription drug costs, investing in rebuilding our infrastructure and expanding broadband, and bolstering U.S. manufacturing to support millions of good-paying jobs. It was a more productive and more bipartisan time for Congress than any in recent history.
“I enjoyed hearing the President’s call for unity, and I look forward to getting to work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle and the administration to build on the progress we’ve made.”
