Today marks 100 days since Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton (VA-10) took office on January 3rd. Congresswoman Wexton was sworn in during what would become the longest government shutdown in history. The Congresswoman spent her first month in office fighting to reopen the government and assisting constituents impacted by the 35 day shutdown.
“I promised to fight for bold gun safety legislation, to lower the cost of health care, to stand up for our federal workers ‒ these are issues that matter to my district, and they’re issues I’ve been fighting hard for,” said Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton. “My job is to get things done for VA-10, so that’s exactly what I’m doing. The first bill I passed was bipartisan, and my first amendment passed with overwhelming bipartisan support. I’m encouraged by the progress we’ve made here in the House, and I look forward to working with my Republican colleagues on addressing our nation’s infrastructure needs and working to lower the costs of prescription drugs.”
