Wexton Announces $3.1 Million Returned to Constituents, More than 2,000 Cases Closed

Wexton’s office continues to operate around the clock to serve the people of Virginia’s 10th Congressional District

Sterling, VA -- Today Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton (VA-10) announced that her office has helped recover more than $3.1 million owed to constituents from federal agencies such as the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Social Security Administration.

“Every day, my team and I are working to put the people of Virginia’s 10th Congressional District first, and the casework completed by my staff is one of the most direct ways we’re able to make a difference in people’s lives,” said Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton. “If you need help, please reach out to my office and we’ll do everything we can to assist you -- and if we can’t solve your problem, we’ll put you in touch with someone who can. Especially during these difficult times, my office is working hard for you.”

Since her swearing in, Congresswoman Wexton’s office has closed more than 2,000 constituent cases in service to the people of Virginia’s 10th Congressional District. On March 13, Wexton’s staff implemented new operating procedures, transitioning to remote work to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Since then, Wexton’s office has opened 879 cases and closed another 777 cases -- continuing to provide uninterrupted constituent services. In her communications to constituents during virtual town halls, emails, and other channels, Wexton has continually emphasized that constituents should reach out to her office for help if needed.

If constituents can't get an answer from a federal agency in a timely fashion, or if they feel they have been treated unfairly, Wexton’s office may be able to help resolve a problem or get constituents the information they need. While Wexton’s office cannot always guarantee constituents a favorable outcome, staff will always work to ensure constituents receive a fair and timely response to their problem.

Congresswoman Wexton’s staff is able to help constituents navigate issues with federal agencies, including:

  • Social Security and Medicare
  • Veterans’ Benefits
  • IRS Issues
  • Passports and Visas
  • Small Business Assistance
  • Federal Grants and Loans
