Wexton Announces “Caring for Those Who Care for Us” -- Virtual Letter Writing Campaign for Virginia-10 Frontline Workers

Sterling, VA -- Today, Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton (D-VA) announced the launch of “Caring for Those Who Care for Us,” a campaign to share messages of support and appreciation with health care professionals and first responders in Virginia’s 10th District via a virtual letter or illustration.

“Our medical professionals and first responders are on the frontlines of this crisis, helping our families stay safe and healthy,” said Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton. “We owe all of them a tremendous debt of gratitude. Their days are long, exhausting, and emotionally draining -- which is why I want our Virginia-10 community to show them how much we appreciate the work they’re doing. These letters and drawings are just a small token of our thanks, and I’m continuing to prioritize the needs of our frontline workers in Congress’ response to the COVID-19 crisis to ensure that we’re taking care of those who are caring for us.”

Congresswoman Wexton is inviting Virginia-10 constituents to submit a letter or drawing expressing thanks for those who are working on the frontlines of this crisis. Letters and drawings can be submitted using this online form, which can also be found on Wexton’s website. As letters and drawings are submitted, Congresswoman Wexton’s staff will distribute them directly to frontline workers across Virginia’s 10th District and share them through a virtual gallery.

Recently, Wexton voted to pass an interim relief package that included $75 billion for hospitals and health care providers. Wexton is continuing to advocate for funding for states and localities to ensure police, firefighters, EMS, teachers and other critical state and local workers have the resources needed to keep our communities safe, healthy, and functioning.
