Rep. Wexton Hosts Story Time with Little Lobbyists, to Raise Awareness of Disability Justice and Representation

Today, Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton (D-VA) hosted a story time with the Little Lobbyists at the Library of Congress, reading children's books featuring disabled characters, including Justice Sonia Sotomayor's Just Ask! The story time and discussion with the kids and parents focused on the importance of disability justice and representation.

"I was so glad to host the Little Lobbyists for their very first 'Story Time with Members of Congress' to highlight disability justice and representation," said Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton (D-VA). "The books we read featured disabled children, helping demonstrate that everyone is different, and different is great!"

The Little Lobbyists are a family-led group advocating for and with children with complex medical needs and disabilities to access the health care, education, and community inclusion they need to survive and thrive. The Congresswoman read stories and faciliated a discussion with the families to highlight how -- although some kids may seem different -- we’re all the same on the inside.
