Rep. Wexton: New White House Guide Helps Virginia Communities Access Historic Investments Under Bipartisan Infrastructure Law
Sterling, VA,
February 2, 2022
Sterling, VA – Today, Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton (D-VA) touted a comprehensive new guide from the Biden Administration to help Virginia localities navigate all of the historic investments under the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. This guidebook, available here, highlights how local communities can take full advantage of urgently-needed infrastructure funding for road maintenance, expanded public transit, airport upgrades, and other critical projects. “Our infrastructure has suffered due to decades of underinvestment, and Virginians are paying the price,” said Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton. “With our bipartisan infrastructure law, federal funding is finally coming to our Commonwealth to improve our roads, bridges, public transit, and broadband while creating good-paying jobs. This new guide to the many programs funded through our historic bill will be invaluable to local leaders as they seek out support for longstanding priorities, and I look forward to working alongside them to deliver the funding we need to restore and rebuild Virginia’s infrastructure.” The landmark Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, signed by President Biden in November 2021, makes long-overdue investments to repair, upgrade, and maintain Virginia’s roads, bridges, public transit, airports, water systems, and other long-neglected infrastructure. The Biden Administration’s new guidebook provides key information on all available funding in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, totaling more than 350 distinct programs supporting a wide range of infrastructure projects. This guide outlines eligibility criteria, application deadlines, and contact information, as well as additional resources to help navigate these programs. The full guide is available here. ### |
