High School Leadership Program
High School Leaders will engage in interactive, experiential, and classroom learning opportunities geared towards exposing students to the vital work of federal agencies – some operating right here in the 10th Congressional district. Students will have the opportunity to interact with Congressional staff and federal agency representatives to gain real life experiences and a deeper understanding of the policy making process, constituent services, and the federal government.
The program will be held every Friday beginning on July 12, 2019 and running until August 9, 2019. All sessions will be held inside of the 10th District EXCEPT for August 9, 2019 which will be hosted in the Congresswoman’s DC Office.
WHO CAN APPLY
The Leadership Program is intended for high school students who demonstrate leadership and service to their community. This may include, but is not limited to, serving in an elected or appointed office for a student organization and substantial volunteer work or community service. Students must have a demonstrated academic excellence as well as an interest in pursuing a career in government or public service. All applicants must have ties to Virginia’s 10th congressional district and must have their own transportation to and from events.

Applications must be received by June 7th. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
